Presidents, prostitution, and politics. These three "Ps" make for a powerful combination of unexpected stories in Senator Harry Reids The Good Fight, which is now available in audio book on Audible.com, narrated by me. His path of life starting in a railroad tie house is raw, covering tough lessons of mining, suicide and taking on cases that other lawers would consider insane. It's this honesty and wild ride that led Senator Reid to a powerful seat in Washington. The path was paved with relationships, good intentions and grit.
While the book was published in 2008, the path that Reid saw politics taking at the time is an eerily preminition of the ideocy that gripped the country from 2016-2021. The one thing that constantly rang true to me as I read it, is those who do not study the past are doomed to not only repeat it, but suffer even more greatly. Despite the problems Reid saw back then, he remained optomistic about the general course of the nation over the long haul.
